In 2002, Keuka College successfully partnered with several major Chinese universities in launching the Sino-American Academic Collaboration Program.

Keuka College’s partner universities include Yunnan University of Finance & Economics (YUFE), Tianjin University of Science & Technology, Jimei University, and Wenzhou University.

Currently, there are approximately 3,500 students enrolled in the Keuka China Program, with approximately 4,500 successful graduates from all partner universities.

The Keuka China Program (KCP) offers a Bachelor of Science degree completion program in management. A graduate of the program receives a bachelor’s degree conferred by Keuka College and another conferred by the Chinese partner university. These degrees are recognized by both the People’s Republic of China and the United States of America.

China is rapidly embracing ideas such as free enterprise and individual opportunity, and Keuka College, as the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning, has been able to provide its Chinese partners with support for introducing Field Period internships for all KCP students.

Keuka’s partner universities in China value the Field Period concept that requires students to apply what they have learned in the college classroom to real-life situations. Field Period is a way for Keuka students, both in the U.S. and in China, to become more competitive in the job market. Chinese businesses appreciate the skills that Keuka graduates have and American companies in China are very receptive to the Field Period idea. With thousands of American companies operating in China, Keuka College is primed to have a positive impact on two of the most powerful economic forces in the world.

Exchange students from KCP partner universities attend classes in Keuka Park with American classmates. Beginning in the 2008-09 academic year with four students, the number of exchange students has increased to 18 in 2010-2011.

The first Keuka College study abroad student to China is attending YUFE for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Thirteen Keuka students conducted their January 2006 Field Periods in China. Six were stationed at the Beijing Children’s Home, an orphanage that also provides medical treatment to children from all over northern China, and seven helped establish a Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team at YUFE.The women’s basketball team played a series of goodwill games against Keuka’s part

The Keuka-China international relationship has the official approval of the Office of Academic Degrees Committee for the State Council in the People’s Republic of China. Keuka’s programs in China follow the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China.

KCP provides the same degree and is accredited in the same way as traditional Keuka College programs in the U.S. The Bachelor of Science in Management (B.S.M.) degree is accredited by the International Association for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
