Representatives of Keuka College, U.S.A. Visit Jimei University

       On October 24, 2015 Keuka College Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Paul Forestell, Senior Director for Global Academic Initiatives, Dr. William Myers, and Administrative Chancellor for China Campuses, Keuka China Programs Dr. Joseph Hwang led a delegation that visited our university.  Jimei Universitys Assistant to the President Dr. Ye Guanghuang, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Prof. Wang Jian, as well as other Jimei University Overseas Education College administrators represented Jimei University during the visit.
 
       On the morning of October 24, representatives from both institutions met in the Chengyi University College Theater to convene a meeting with Keuka China Programs students and the parents of those students. The event was presided over by Vice Dean of the Overseas Education College, Jimei University, Prof. Sun Fuming. Speaking on behalf of Jimei University, Dr. Ye Guanghuang stated that Jimei University has always been committed to implementing new methods of international cooperation and exchange and that he has consistently supported improvements in the area of internationalization. Since 2003, Jimei University has operated the Sino-American Cooperation Education Program with Keuka College. Since that time, the program has placed a special emphasis on quality education, which has overall made the program stellar and successful. Dr. Ye expressed hope that the two institutions would continue to operate on the basis of close communication and promised to delve further into the idea of sustainable development. Lastly, Dr. Ye also encouraged students and parents to continue providing valuable feedback on how to better improve the future of the program and looks forward to working together to  create a better future for the students.
 
       Dr. Paul Forestell and Dr. Joseph Hwang both gave speeches as well.  They  expressed their sincerest gratitude for the contributions made to the program by the leaders of Jimei University and Keuka College for the development of the Sino-American Cooperation Education Program. They further expressed their hope that the new team will continue to build upon the programs existing foundation. They stressed that they were actively developing methods to better serve the students so that they may be better prepared to compete in the digital age
 
       Afterwards, Keuka College leaders took part in a question and answer session with parents and students, answering questions about topics that ranged from future employment to academic questions.
 
       Later that afternoon, Keuka College leaders participated in the Keuka College On-Campus Programs BSM 3+1 & MSM 4+1 meeting with interested students from Jimei University. The goal of the meeting was to give professional guidance and information for interested students and their parents. Also that afternoon, Jimei University representatives and Kueka College representatives held an operational meeting during which they discussed how they could better improve the cooperation program. Both sides worked together toward continued success in the future and agreed to closer collaboration and communication.
