Wenzhou University Held The 2010 Keuka Sino-Us Cooperatively-run Schools Graduation Ceremony

In the morning of June 29th, 2010, the 2010 Graduation Ceremony of keuka china program in wenzhou University is held in Yuying Auditorium of the College Road Campus. Professor Juanjuan Lin, secretary of the Party committee of Wenzhou University, Professor Xue Wei , vice-president of wenzhou University, Dr. Joseph Burke, president of Keuka College, Dr. Anne Weed, academic vice-president of Keuka College, Dr. Michael T.C. Hwang, vice-president and Director of Keuka China Programs, Dr. Gary Smith, vice-president of Keuka College, Mr. Bogang Wu, from the Foreign Affairs Office of Provincial Department of Education, and the staffs of KCP ( Keuka China Program),the leaders of related department and academy of Wenzhou University, attend this ceremony. Besides, the Award-winning student representatives of the Cooperation institutions, and the families and friends of the graduates as well as some interested people also take part in the ceremony. The ceremony is chaired by Xiaopeng Yan, the Dean of International Cooperation College.
On the Graduation Ceremony, Vice-president Xue Wei, President Dr. Joseph Burke, Vice-president Dr. Michael T.C. Hwang make speeches separately. They welcome the leaders, guests, the students and their parents who attend the ceremony, and they affirm the achievements and the friendship between each other over the last 9 years, and congratulate to the Graduates. Vice-president Xue Wei says that during the 9 years, the two parts have made useful contribution to achieve high-quality resources complement for each other, well as international personnel training and culture and education exchange between China and the United States, and have provided valuable experience for the international development of the school, and, meanwhile, play the positive role in promoting the international education level of the school.
The leaders of the two college parts award certificates to the Bachelor of Management winners of Keuka College, and academic excellence prize and the excellent experiential learning and career management prize well as the 102ed experiential learning and career management prize for them. The students Yezhe Zheng, Tang Lie, Mingmin Ni, etc. win the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.
Graduate Representative Xie Zhen, Lin Jing make speeches in Chinese and English who express deep feelings of gratitude to their alma mater. Parent representatives also make speeches to thank the Wenzhou University and Keuka College for the Cooperative training to their children.
The Keuka program in Wenzhou University has been widely recognized and praised since the beginning in 2001. “3+1” model is firstly started in 2009 in which a student named Lin Jing acquired the scholarship of 13 000 U.S. dollars and successfully attended the Keuka College in the USA to study the 4-years courses, and once more, this year, she acquired the scholarship of 12000 U.S. dollars and receives the Master Admission Notice from Keuka College. In 2010, another 7 students like Shuhuai Dai win the semi-free scholarships from Keuka College and will go to the United States to finish the courses of the last year. While the exploration of new cooperation models injects new vitality into this project, it also consolidates the development of the project.
At the same time, Career Experience Education Exhibition of Keuka College is held in the Yuying auditorium of International Cooperation Institute in wenzhou University. Keuka College is the leader of the Experiential Education, which is list in the 18 best Experiential Education colleges by the U.S. News & World Report in 2010.
After this Ceremony, 296 students will start their Careers from here. The ceremony of this year is the biggest one since the start of Keuka program in China. After that, the presidents’ round table discussion and deans’ joint conference between Keuka College and Keuka’s Chinese partner universities is held.
