Shopping is always a great time. In addition to regular malls, shopping in Windmill Farm & Craft Market was a fresh experience. Serving as an outlet for local producers and craftsmen, Windmill was an open market where people could get a variety of stuff. There were three buildings and streets of shops where you could find elaborate clothes, handicrafts and groceries. What impressed me most were the handicrafts    which were designed and made elaborately. Furthermore, they were much like the commodities in China. I could hardly tell the difference. Home adornments, women’s jewelry & accessories and deer products were really cute. Windmill reminded me of my hometown, Yunnan where there are many markets boasting exquisite handicraft works of ethnic minorities.

This week I began my work study job, the desk worker in residence hall, an easy work, yet not well-paid. It is good experience anyway; meanwhile, it can compensate a tiny fraction of my living expense. Taking no account of currency exchange rate, the stuff is cheap in the United States. So it is wise to make US dollar and spend US dollar.
